Job description: This leading global automotive tier one supplier with 72 locations in 14 countries has an immediate need for an Project Manager at their Columbus, OH corporate office. Position Summary:

LPLs manage all aspects of new model development projects from concept through mass production. The focus is on ensuring project success from an engineering and business standpoint via planning, organization, and communication. LPLs are responsible for leading the project teams to set and achieve overall project goals that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience

Minor in Business Administration preferred

6+ years’ experience in Automotive R&D or similar is preferred

Minimum 3+ years’ experience leading teams or in a leadership role

Proficient in Microsoft Office / O365: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc

Strong attention to detail

Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines

Must have strong project management skills

Strong understanding of prototype tooling, parts, products, costs, and manufacturing methods

Detailed understanding of product quality, cost, and delivery

Excellent negotiation skills

Strong organizational skills to track and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Primary Position responsibilities:

Communicate with customers to establish product concepts and schedules

Manage/track overall development against scope, schedule, and cost baselines

Organize prototype builds via schedule management and cross-departmental communication

Negotiate project specification, cost, and change requests internally and externally (customer)

Report project status to executive stakeholders

Organize and prioritize project-related concern items

Create a technical strategy to win competitive business

Mentor and train associates at E2-level and below

Execute continuous improvement and Kaizen activities to support department efficiency

Forecast, track, and report material and man-hour budgets for respective projects

Lead benchmarking activity related to assign projects and technology expertise

Travel

Travel requirement: Up to 10%

Expected salary: $75000 – 95000 per year
