Job description: 10676 – Sr. Engineering System Admin, IT Service Delivery (HATCI), Ann Arbor, Michigan

Job Summary:

This on-site Role will be the primary expert on HATCI’s Windows Server infrastructure and operations, Active Directory management and VMWare ESXi host management. This role ensures policies and standard practices including data protection and security compliance are applied to the HATCI Server environment. The Sr. Platform Engineer also provides expertise and support for HATCI’s storage, network and security infrastructure in collaboration with HAEA Infra and Security Operations teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and provide Microsoft solutions and Windows servers architecture
  • Provide documentation, standards, and requirements
  • Monitoring Service Provider’s end-to-end support of infrastructure services.
  • Managing Service Provider overall performance & SLAs and quality in accordance with contract as it relates to delivery to HATCI
  • Ensuring that Windows servers are installed and configured according to specifications
  • Ensuring that networks, remote connections and virtual environments are properly maintained and available
  • Overseeing Vendors’ successful monitoring, maintenance, backup/recovery and security compliance of infrastructure
  • Ensuring that Patch Monitoring and Deployments are performed timely and in accordance with service levels.
  • Providing on-site support to complement service provider’s remote management services.
  • Overseeing infrastructure hardware and software acquisition, installation, and changes.

Supervision

  • Mentor, coach, train and develop junior team members and partners to increase capability and effectiveness
  • Interfaces with users, troubleshoots problems and provides appropriate solutions
  • Work closely with HAEA management team to effectively resolve issues
  • Carry out the executive summary and procurement process for acquisition of new equipment, software and lease refreshes. Review contracts, get quotes, understand price and terms, develop and maintain vendor relationships
  • Oversee day to day operations as it relates to Windows, Linux, Network, Storage and other platforms
  • Act as technical lead and/or project manager on projects of small to moderate scope

IT Service Delivery

  • Interact with clients and resolve service issues based on support tickets
  • Respond to and complete service requests
  • Responsible to keep computer systems, appliances and network devices updated with latest operating system and application patches
  • Assist coordination of adds/moves and changes

Required Skills, Attributes & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, IT Technical or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience in related IT position and working in a corporate environment supporting 500+ users
  • IT experience at an Automotive Design, Research and Development or Technical Center is preferred
  • Advanced skills in:
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop / Windows Server / MS Exchange / Active Directory
  • Network Administration / Engineering
  • Project management
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and computer hardware, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues, hard drive errors, network drive and printer mapping.
  • Knowledge of IT principles and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies and best practices and methods in the IT field
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
  • Flexible, organized and able to work effectively with all levels of employees
  • Experience in a matrixed organization with the proven ability to influence people
  • Bilingual (English / Korean) a plus

Salary Range – $98,060 to $151,008
